On December 1, 2022, the Medical Faculty of the Ala-Too International University hosted a seminar on the occasion of World AIDS Day, organized by the AIU Student Council.

This seminar was held under the slogan “We are for life, we are against AIDS!” to raise awareness.

The main goal of the seminar was not only to improve the health of children and young people living with HIV, but also to reduce the stigma they face in everyday life. By raising public awareness about HIV, young people can become more independent. At the seminar, participants discussed the risks of HIV transmission from mother to child, the specifics of working with adolescents and parents of children living with HIV, as well as aspects of psychosocial support for children and adolescents. There is stigmatization and unwillingness in society to openly discuss the topic of HIV and AIDS.
