"Start thinking wellness, not illness"

December 6, 2022

World Stroke Day is held on 29th October every year.

Stroke is one of the most common neurological presentations throughout the world. It affects different people in different ways depending on what part of the brain is affected and to what extent. In general, the sooner someone can get medical and rehabilitative help the better their chances are of having a good recovery after the stroke.

The theme for World Stroke Day this year is 'Minutes can save lives' highlighting the importance of early response to stroke symptoms and getting someone to help as soon as possible.

A stroke can affect anyone, regardless of age. However, it can be avoided to a large extent. The underlying causes of a stroke include gender elements, genetics, hereditary factors, and medical history. One of the best ways to observe this day is by getting a full body checkup and adopting a healthy lifestyle to keep the disease at bay.

The occasion of World Stroke Day reminds each one of us that we need to take extra care of our health.

Warm wishes on this special day.
